The Blue Toaster

When it comes to toaster colors, blue definitely isn’t up there at the top of the popularity list with black or white.  Nonetheless, it is a wonderful color and definitely deserves to have a spot on the kitchen counter.  The truth is that it can be very tough to find any appliance in the color blue, not just toasters.  Things like the bar fridge or even a simple coffee maker are almost impossible to find in this color.  A blue toaster gives your kitchen counter a retro feel, and is just what you need if you are trying to stand out from the crowd.  Fortunately, if you just need to have a blue toaster, you have a few options.

Villaware Cobalt Blue Toaster

Villaware is one of only a very small handful of manufacturers making blue toasters.  Their Uno model has a stainless steel exterior, and the ends are cobalt blue.  One convenient feature is that it has to be plugged in for the lever to stay down.  They put that in so that you don’t put your bread in and then find out two minutes later that you forgot to plug it in.  At $20, these blue toasters are good deal.

Kitchenaid Blue Toaster

Kitchenaid’s version of the blue toaster is called the Blue Willow.  This blue 4 slice toaster is a quality appliance.  It is made out of high quality materials and built to last for many years.  In addition, the Blue Willow toaster features some of the most state-of-the-art toaster technology.  For example, it has what it calls “baker’s bagel” technology, which means that it lightly browns the sides of the bagel, while at the same time toasting the cut sides.  What this means is no more burnt ends of the bagel.  In addition, it features self-centering bread racks to help toast more evenly, and it has a removable crumb tray for easy cleaning.  This kitchenaid cobalt blue toaster is a good choice if you want an appliance that is built well but isn’t too expensive.

Dualit makes a light blue toaster for those of you who want something other than dark blue.  They make hand-crafted appliances and are very good.  Take a look at my yellow toaster page for more detailed information.  I tried to find a blue toaster oven, but unfortunately didn’t have any luck.  If I find one, I’ll add it to this page.
