While there are only two main types of Pegasus faucets, single and double handled, there are many different styles and designs available.  Some materials used for these faucets are available in both the kitchen and the bathroom, but others tend to look better on the bathroom sink.
Brushed nickel is one of the most popular styles of Pegasus kitchen faucets. With a sleek contemporary design, these faucets are at home in even the most luxurious kitchen. Brushed nickel is also a low maintenance finish that wears well and easily hides scratches.
Polished chrome is another extremely popular style of Pegasus kitchen faucet. Its shiny exterior is more suited for more modern and flashy kitchens or bathrooms. Polished brass is another popular style of Pegasus faucet. With its shiny brass exterior, these faucets are at home in even the most retro environment. Brass also has the benefit of being extremely durable and highly resistant to corrosion. Unfortunately, if not properly protected, brass will eventually begin to tarnish and fade. There are various finishes available on the market that will help prevent your brass faucet from tarnishing.  If you are looking for a unique faucet for your kitchen, you are most likely going to find what you are searching for in a brass faucet.  They also look great when installed on the sink in the bar.  If you have a stainless steel bar fridge and counter, the brown metal will contrast nicely with it.
Like brass, a very popular type of faucet these days is made out of what is called oil rubbed bronze.  These bronze kitchen faucets are not as shiny as polished brass, and they have an old fashioned, european look to them.  Brass is good if you want flashy, but oil rubbed bronze faucets are better for a nice dark brown look.
Some of the less popular styles of Pegasus kitchen faucets include pearl nickel, biscuit, and white. Perl nickel faucets have a dull nickel appearance, and like brushed nickel they hide daily wear and scratches very well. Biscuit is a soft, off-white finish that is similar to that used on many appliances. White, as its name suggest, is a white colored finish that is very similar to biscuit. Both biscuit and white finishes are neutral styles that can be used in almost any kitchen.  As far as the handle goes, there are usually enough choices in each type so that you can take your pick between a Pegasus single handle kitchen faucet or one with two handles.

Who Makes Pegasus Faucets?

If you are considering purchasing a Pegasus kitchen faucet, there are a few things that you need to know.  First, Pegasus is a brand that is owned by The Home Depot, and these faucets are sold in their stores as well as on the internet.  One thing that customers should know about Pegasus faucets is that if you need to fix it later on, it is a bit harder to find parts for them.  While faucet parts are easily available for other brands like Moen, and Price Pfister, Pegasus faucet parts hardly seem to exist.  Even if you look at the Home Depot’s website, they only offer a few odds and ends, and not the parts you would need to replace a handle or something like that.

If you run into this problem, one of your only options may be to go into the store you bought the faucet from and see if you can get them to find the part you need.

Pegasus Kitchen Faucet Designs

Despite the problems with finding replacement parts, Pegasus offers some very nice kitchen faucets at every price range.  The folks designing products at this company have figured out that many people these days want what is called a pull-down kitchen faucet, so they offer quite a few of them.  Pegasus pull down faucets come in a number of designs, ranging from the high arc neck to smaller units.  The good thing about these pull out models is that they eliminate the need for a separate kitchen sprayer.  Some types even have the ability to spray at two different speeds.
If you like old fashioned looking faucets, a good choice is what they call the “bridge” faucet.  It has an antique look to it with a high, curving neck.  Like many Pegasus faucets, they can come with a brushed nickel (silver), chrome, or oil rubbed bronze (brown) finish.  The bronze finished faucets tend to portray an old fashioned look, while the shiny nickel or chrome models look more modern.  If you are looking for something a bit more out of the ordinary, an oil rubbed bronze kitchen faucet should do the trick quite nicely.

If the old fashioned look just isn’t your cup of tea, there are some designs that are very modern looking as well.  The Hi-tech, Arco, and K Series models of Pegasus faucet have sleek modern designs.

Should You Buy a Pegasus Faucet?

This is a tough question to answer.  On one hand, these are pretty high quality faucets, but on the other hand, they don’t tout a lifetime warranty like some of the other brands do.  If you trust The Home Depot and their customer service, then I guess they are a good buy.  If not, then there are plenty of other faucet options available, as I’m sure you are aware of.
