The Single Slot Toaster

When it comes to toasters, there are three basic model designs that you can choose from. The first is the toaster oven, which has a door that opens, and is like tiny oven.  The second kind is a side by side slot toaster, where you just drop the bread in the slots.  The third design is the single slot toaster.  Instead of having two different slots, it only has one long one.  There are many different toasters to choose from, but most of them feature the side by side style.

If you are looking for a toaster that is only big enough for one single slice of bread, you’ll have a very hard time finding one.  I have only seen 2, 4, or 6 slice toasters.  As for single slot toasters, nearly all of them can toast 2 slices. Having a single slot, you put the toast end to end in there.  The reason why they don’t make many 4 slice single slot toasters is because the appliance would be very long.  In fact, it would have to be almost 2 feet long to be able to put 4 slices of bread lengthwise in a single slot!

If you like the single long slot toaster style, and you need to be able to brown 4 slices, you can get one that is called a tandem toaster.  Cuisinart makes what it calls a tandem 4 slice toaster.  The slots are wide enough to toast a bagel, and you have the option of only turning one side on if you want.  This saves electricity because you only use one side if you are toasting 2 pieces of bread.  It also features an extra lift lever that comes in handy when removing small pieces of bread.  This way, you don’t need to go fishing in the hot toaster hole for your piece of bread!!

The Yellow Toaster

I can think of a few reasons why one might buy a yellow toaster.  Maybe you really want your toaster to stand out from the rest of the appliances.  Or maybe your kitchen is full of yellow colored things and your toaster needs to fit in.  Whatever your reasons for wanting one, there are yellow toasters just waiting for you to scoop them up and take them home.  As you might have already discovered, it is pretty hard to find a yellow toaster at a shop.  They have black, white, red, and maybe even pink, but not yellow.  Fortunately, they are available on the internet.  Here are a few of your choices, when only yellow will do:

Hamilton Beach Yellow Toaster

Hamilton Beach knows that some people are on the lookout for a yellow toaster, so they made one.  It is made completely out of metal and toasts two slices at a time.  It also features a cancel button to stop the machine at any time.  In addition, it also offers defrost and reheat settings, allowing you to defrost a slice of bread before you toast it without burning the outside.  Add a slide-out crumb tray, concealed heating elements, and a 3 year warranty, and this yellow toaster is one fine yellow toaster.

Dualit Yellow Toaster

Dualit is a company that produces top of the line appliances.  The Dualit yellow toasters are no exception either.  Each one is handmade in England, which is definitely a rare quality these days when it comes to manufactured items.  It is made out of stainless steel, and easily out-toasts its plastic competitors.  It has extra wide slots that are big enough to fit bagels or other large items inside.  In addition, it will work with a Dualit sandwich cage, which is a nifty little contraption that allows you to toast your entire sandwich, and it even catches melted cheese and oil, saving you from having to clean up the inside of your yellow toaster oven.
